Root Beer Float

Root beer is more than a classic. It brings back childhood memories – refreshing sweetness on a hot summer night and, for some of us of a certain age, the thrill of a drive-in movie with trips to the concession stand, crumpled dollars in hand. We’d been tinkering with the flavor for a while, fine-tuning the spice, smoothing the vanilla notes, deepening the richness. When Guy pointed us toward a version he liked at a midwest restaurant, we knew we needed to punch up the earthy notes for a true nostalgic experience. The ultimate blend is extraordinary – so “float like” that it’s hard even for us to believe it’s just straight-up sparkling water.
